Gratuities and Tipping

Gratuities are one of the questions we are most frequently asked by guests planning their safari, so we have provided the following information simply as a helpful guideline.

At Garland Hunting Safaris, gratuities are never mandatory and are entirely at the discretion of the guest. We believe that a gratuity should be earned through exceptional service, hard work and the overall contribution of our team to your safari experience.

Our professional hunters, trackers, skinners, head of house, cook, housekeeping staff and support teams work together to make every safari a memorable one. Should you feel that a member of the team has gone above and beyond during your stay, a gratuity is always sincerely appreciated.

The following amounts are provided as a general guideline only:

• Professional hunter (PH): $100 - $200 per hunter per day, depending on the nature of the safari, such as plains game or dangerous game hunting.
• Tracker: $30 - $40 per hunter per day.
• Head of house/cook: $20 - $50 per hunter per day.
• Housekeeping: $10 - $20 per hunter per day.

The preferred method of tipping is cash in US dollars, allowing guests to personally thank individual members of the team. Alternatively, gratuities may be added to your final safari account, and our office will distribute them to the appropriate team members according to your instructions.

Your Professional Hunter will also be happy to offer guidance during your safari if you have any questions about customary tipping.

Above all, please remember that gratuities are a personal choice and are never expected or required.

A tip is simply a gesture of appreciation for exceptional service and is always gratefully received by the members of our team.
