TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION
When traveling to Garland Hunting Safaris, you will first arrive at either Cape Town or Johannesburg (OR Tambo) international airport. From there, you will need to take a domestic flight to East London airport, where one of our friendly staff members will pick you up and transport you to our base camp.
It is essential to note that if you are traveling with firearms, you must fly with South African Airlink for your domestic flight to East London, as they are the only local airline that allows firearms.
Travelers from the United States and most European countries do not need a visa to enter South Africa. You are permitted to stay in the Republic of South Africa for up to 90 days from the date of your arrival. The only documentation required is a valid passport.
Important Information:
When traveling with minors, additional documentation is required. Any person under 18 must have an unabridged birth certificate showing their full name as it appears in their passport, along with a certified copy of both parents’ passports. If a minor is traveling with only one parent, the accompanying parent must provide an unabridged birth certificate and a signed affidavit from the other legal parent, authorizing the child to travel to or from South Africa with the accompanying parent. The affidavit must include both parents’ full names as they appear in their passports, a certified copy of the non-traveling parent’s passport, and a 24-hour contact number for the non-traveling parent. Failure to provide this documentation will prevent the minor from traveling to and from South Africa.
We understand this adds an extra step, but immigration decisions are final, and we must adhere to them. We hope this does not deter you from bringing your children on safari, as we believe they are our future and that this experience is vital for continuing the hunting and outdoor lifestyle. Please note that children under 12 have a reduced day fee of $130. Feel free to contact us with any concerns.
